Faculty and students shall conduct studies and plan initiatives for reducing electricity consumption and improving energy conservation in the campus.
The institute shall set up a working-group drawn from active faculty and students interested and working on the agenda of creating green action plan and mainstreaming the sustainable development and climate changes in education.
Use of solar PV generation shall continue and faculty members and students to identify and explore other methods of green energy usage.
The institute shall facilitate participatory documentation of its flora and fauna with the help of experts, environmentalists and the student community for whom it would be an educational and sensitization process.
The green committee must look into the various environmental aspects for green technology and green environment. The performance of waste water treatment, waste recycling, rainwater harvesting and other water conservation measures shall also be monitored.
The objectives of the green committee shall be to reduce carbon and water footprint, enhance water quality and biodiversity in the campus, and time to time update the green policy.
The institute shall develop a baseline data on water use, waste generation and disposal, carbon footprint, paper use, etc.
Use of sensors shall be promoted to check optimal performance of installations.
The organic and inorganic solid waste in the campus shall be collected separately for disposal as per established norms.
The use plastics shall be banned in the campus.
The green and environmental awareness shall be spread to the nearby community as student’s extension activities.
