Collaborations

The institute has created several avenues for learning advanced technologies with hands on approach through collaborations and centers of excellences (COE) created with support of other universities, corporate, and governmental initiatives for the benefit of its staff and students.

FICE/UC Berkley USA – Smart City Accelerator Program

The institute has signed an MOU with FICE/University of California, Berkley, USA for a smart city micro accelerator program in association with Texas Instruments and developed its center of excellence. Our students are working on the projects guided by UC Berkley trained faculty. Thereafter, the industry linkages to market for those who want to follow a path of venture. Apart from this, the students are also provided internship from the Industry.

ChungBuk National University, Republic of Korea

(Research in AI and Machine Learning)

The purpose of this MOU is to promote student exchange and exchange of Academic staff.  The association is expected to increase collaboration, cooperation and interaction for the further promotion and understanding of computer science and engineering concepts with special focus on research in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Institute of Water Sciences Australia

(Waste Water treatment and Incubation Centre)

The purpose of this MOU is to create center of excellence and innovation incubation centre to develop leading technologies for environment and energy initiatives in the discipline of Environmental Sciences, particularly as it pertains to water. We expect this centre to be a cooperative body that acts as an umbrella organisation, not only for local and affiliated colleges and institutes, but also industry and government authorities in this space.

COE in IoT from Intel

This center of excellence is established by one of the top MNC INTEL for imparting training in Internet of Things. After the successful completion of the training, the students will be able to work on projects and enhance their employability.

SuKam – COE in Solar Power Engineering

Institute has signed an MOU with Su-Kam to offer subject matter expertise & establish R&D focused center of excellence in the campus to impart knowledge (through an industry integrated curriculum) and help develop newer, more efficient solar products such as inverters, chargers and charge controllers, harnessing the endless energy of the sun. The expert trainers for the certificate program are to be provided by Interactiv. Students’ visits to solar industries are also under the plan by Interactiv.

Dell EMC COE for Big Data Analytics and Cloud Infrastructure

DELL EMC has established it’s Centre of Excellence at PIET. Through this centre of excellence various courses are designed and delivered considering the trends in the industry. These courses provide the employability skills and knowledge for an individual to obtain suitable job opportunities. Based on the skill requirement analysis and the profile of people hired in the industry, it has been proposed to train 200 students under this alliance through the ICT Academy. Under the banner of Dell EMC External Research and Academic Alliance following COEs have been established:

  • Centre of Academic Excellence on Data Science and Big Data Analytics
  • Centre of Academic Excellence on Cloud Infrastructure Services

Interactiv COE for BIM Technology for Civil Engineering

The COE is established with the vision of empowering the students by imparting industry relevant skill sets and increasing their employability. To achieve this Interactiv and PIET have collaborated to impart industry relevant course in the field of Civil Engineering on the BIM framework.

Interactiv through active assistance from BIM is to offer subject matter expertise in area of Civil Engineering by offering an industry relevant curriculum with certification.

MOU with Cyberops Infosec for Training in Cyber security

Cyber Security has become a major area of concern these days with huge job market in coming times. Realizing this fact, Institute has signed an MOU with Cyberops Infosec LLP. The Program for which this MOU is signed is known as “Cyber Security Training Program” of Cyberops with the purpose of rendering cyber security training program to our students.

MOU with National Highway authority of India (NHAI)

Department of civil engineering has collaborated with National Highway authority of India (NHAI) with mutual cooperation for dissemination of respective expertise in civil engineering field through the road infrastructure development. This collaboration intends to create bridge between industry and academia. Under the program, NHAI offers internship to the student of B. Tech. (CE) final year with a consolidated stipend. The MOU is valid for the period of five years.

MOU with India Accelerator – Initiative to Develop Startups

The institute has signed an MOU with India Accelerator (IA) – leading seed stage startup accelerator of the country, to drive collaboration between Academia, Startups and Industry. This collaboration is expected to foster research, catalyze innovations, creating a startup ecosystem in the campus to help budding entrepreneurs in converting their innovative ideas into commercially viable products. India Accelerator’s (IA) role is to help develop the Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship (CoEE) for the region at PIET campus & transform it into a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.

MOU with IBM

IBM and PIET have agreed, under the collaboration, to setup an IBM Software Lab on emerging technologies in the campus to help students and faculty members enhance their skills in areas of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cyber security and blockchain etc. The aim is to develop sufficient skilled manpower on critical emerging technologies. IBM is to conduct various faculty development programs to enhance the capabilities of the institute faculty in the emerging technology areas. An innovative curriculum has been developed jointly for the programs delivered by the institution faculty. The curriculum caters to the various skill requirements of organizations across the world including banks, computer services, education, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, retail and other industries. The institution designated experts are available at the campus to conduct classes face to face, to ensure that the knowledge and skills are imparted effectively. An IBM Software Lab has been setup in the campus where IBM has provided relevant IBM software and curriculum contents for courses. The programs bring together the current software content, real-world industry experiences, hands on lab courses and case studies for the participants. Further under the program the institute faculty will be able to use the IBM software in the lab for their non-commercial research interests. For monitoring and review of activities a joint committee has been setup between the institution and IBM to recommend on course curriculum, content, delivery etc. Each program participant has access to the course material hosted on LMS from IBM with additional study material and resources to interact with experts & participate in discussions. The participating students will receive certification from IBM at the completion of the course and these students may have an opportunity to visit IBM centres from time-to-time for live industry experience.

MOU with Oracle Academy

The institute entered into Oracle Academy membership agreement in July 2019. Under this agreement students and faculty members get access to world-class technology and software, expert curriculum, teaching and learning materials, professional development, software licenses, Oracle Application Express (APEX) workspaces and Oracle Academy cloud program for hands-on learning and developing. With Oracle Academy, students receive hands-on experience, projects and challenges, with the latest technologies, helping make them career ready in the era of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, the Internet of Things and beyond.

MOU with Skillzcafe

Skillzcafe is an online learning marketplace providing access to millions of students globally. Skillzcafe offers wide array of global courses ranging from full stack development to artificial intelligence to personal development, catering to diverse online learning community. Skillzcafe and PIET have partnered together to help students bridge the skill gap by providing project-based online courses from global instructors. These courses help students solve real world problems and showcase their projects for placements. Learning Areas are identified based on trending topics in the industry like machine learning, data science, digital marketing and many more, with students being constantly encouraged to participate in projects outside the allocated curriculum making them job ready and become talent of the future.

MOU with Coding Ninjas

The objectives and aims of Coding Ninjas in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) include fostering an industry-academia collaboration to enhance students’ software engineering skills. The collaboration aims to provide a blended learning experience by supplying a learning management system and industry-standard content. Coding Ninjas will offer a platform for students to practice over 100 programming problems, access high-quality content, and receive real-time assistance from mentors. Additionally, the platform will feature analytics tools for tracking student progress, and students will be eligible for certificates of distinction upon meeting performance thresholds. This partnership is designed to cultivate a strong coding culture and improve problem-solving abilities among PIET students​.

Spoken Tutorial on FOSS

PIET is the registered college for this program organized by Spoken Tutorials, IIT Bombay. The Spoken Tutorial Project is an initiative to talk about the activity of a teacher of the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT) launched by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India. The Spoken Tutorial Project of IIT Bombay (IITB) empowers faculty and students in free and open source software (FOSS). The engaging courses such as Python, Perl, BASH, GIMP, Blender for multimedia can be learned effectively through spoken tutorials. Students attempting the exam, get a course completion certificate if their score is more than 40%. The courses are useful for both jobs and academics.
