On the occasion of National Technology Day-2020 Department of Civil Engineering has organized on line International Webinar and declamation competition on “Impact of COVID-19 on construction Industry and its Possible Solution”.
Every year 11th may is observed as National Technology day and is celebrated to memorize the anniversary of operation “Shakti”, the successful Pokhran Nuclear test in 1998 were a series of five nuclear bomb test explosions were conducted by the Indian Army at the Pokhran Test Range which was led by aerospace engineer and President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and also Hansa 3, India’s first indigenous aircraft and Trishul, a short range missile made in India, was also tested on the same day. This day was a significant milestone in the history of India’s technological innovations, so prime minister late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee declared this day as “NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY DAY” in 1998. Since then this day is also celebrated to honour technological advancements and their successful commercialization which takes the fruits of research to reach people at large in India.
