A Guest Lecture was organised by the Department of Management Studies, Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology on the topic “The Quintessence of Personal Branding” on 7th July 2021. The guest speaker was Ms. Shivani Malhotra, Co-founder and CEO, Positive Vibes Consulting; President, WICCI, Haryana, HR Council.
The students and faculties welcomed the guest with a short address. In her presentation, Ms. Shivani started off with a small quiz on brands and deliberated on the importance of personal branding. She laid emphasis on how and why it is important for not only companies to build their brand but almost everyone in the present scenario need to be conscious about individual and personal branding. Ms. Shivani also discussed about the components of a personal brand and busted a few myths about personal branding. At the end of the discussion, she drew attention towards very important aspects of SWOT analysis and its role in personal branding; social media handles like facebook, LinkedIn and the like with ultimate focus on defining your audience, preparing an elevator pitch in order to introduce thyself as a ‘Super Brand’. The lecture started at 10 am and ended at 12 Noon. The lecture was highly interactive throughout. The event came to an end with many logical questions from the students. It was indeed a value addition to student’s curiosity of branding themselves appropriately.
