On April 24, 2023, the Department of Management Studies at Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology hosted a guest lecture focused on “Agile and Lean for Modern Management”. The esteemed guest speaker was Mr. Manish Kumar, Manager of the Agile Centre of Excellence at Bain & Company. Mr Kumar is a Certified Agile Coach, Certified Scrum Master, Certified Product Owner, Certified Kanban Practitioner and Certified SAFE Agilist. Bain is a top management consulting firm that advises leaders on critical issues and opportunities in various industries and geographies.
The lecture was highly informative and interactive, with Mr. Kumar providing students with in-depth knowledge of the Agile Methodologies, Lean Philosophy and Lean Practices/Principles. He shared his insights on various topics and some of them are Agile Mindset, Agile Project Management, Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile, Scrum Roles, Lean techniques and the importance of prioritizing and organizing work is crucial in modern management while working on competing priorities. He also organized some interactive activities which helped students to understand the agile concepts in an innovative manner.
The session concluded with a thank-you note from the Head of the Department of Management Studies, Prof. Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, who presented Mr. Manish Kumar with a memento and plant as a token of gratitude. The event was successfully coordinated and facilitated by Dr. PreetiGugnani.
Students were also given the opportunity to provide feedback, which Mr. Kumar emphasized as crucial for continuous learning and adaptation. The lecture was a great learning experience for both students and faculty members in attendance.
