Orientation Programme-MBA (2018)
‘Anusthapan 2018’ the one week Orientation program for the new entrants of MBA students was held in The Department of Management Studies, MBA, PIET from 30th July to 3rd August 2018.
Day 1: July 30, 2k18
On the very first day of the program, there was a red carpet welcome for the new batch of MBA students followed by ‘Tilak’ and Meditation. It was followed by introduction round of the new students. Warming up was done by senior MBA students by introducing various management activities and games. Mr. Ratul, Mr. Bhavya, Ms. Kajal and Mr. Mayank were the Chief student Organizers. Mr. Vikas Nain, a faculty with the Department of Management Studies, MBA, PIET shared his three-part presentation on ‘How to be a better and more successful human being’ through the tenets followed by great people in their lives. Post Lunch session was started by Mr. Chankel Pasricha, Faculty- MBA during an Ice-Breaking session which was certainly an eye-opening session when the Faculty discussed on practical fronts. Most interesting of all was the Alumni session where Mr. Anshul Munjal and Ms. Neeru Gagaan (our proud Alumni) addressed the new entrants and gave them the success mantras and shared their enriched experience with them.
Day 2: July 31, 2k18
The second day of Anusthapan 2k18 set another level of Orientation Program when the new joiners went to the Securities & Exchange Board of India for a visit. They were given insight to security market and its functioning by the General Manager of SEBI Sh. Sharad Krishan Sharma ji. The visit was well planned and executed by Mr. Chankel Pasricha, Faculty- MBA.
Day 3: August 1, 2k18
The third day was marked by a workshop on motivation, guidance and career counseling from renowned Transformation Enabler Resource Person & Corporate Trainer at Confluence Training and Development Mr. Surya Narain Bahadur. Mr. Surya, as he is popularly known in the industry, engaged the rapt attention of students through various management games, team-building activities, inspirational videos and presentations and shared his rich experiences with them in his inimitable style. This was followed by the a formal opening to the MBA program starting with Lamp Lighting by the dignitaries of PIET including Sh. Suresh Tayal, Member Secretary, BOG, PIET , Mr. Rakesh Tayal, Member, BOG, PIET, Mr. Shubham Tayal, the budding Entrepreneur of PIET and Prof. Dr. Shakti Kumar, Director, PIET. Thereafter, The HOD- Department of Management Studies – MBA & B. Voc Mrs. Priyanka Sehgal welcomed all the new students to the PIET family and introduced the faculty members of the Department through a Power Point Presentation. She also stressed upon the importance of this Orientation Program and discussed in brief about what the students can expect from the MBA program and in turn what is expected of them. Thereafter, the visionaries of PIET shared their pearls of wisdom with the students and enthralled the audience with their highly motivational and inspiring words. As a tradition, MBA Department came up with its annual movie release Aagaaz e’ MBA, Directed and Produced by Mr. Manish Gulyani and Mr. Vikas Nain, Faculty- MBA. The students were then lead to a tour of the PIET campus featuring its state of the art educational infrastructure and lush landscape followed by a sumptuous lunch.
Day 4: August 2, 2k18
In the morning session of the fourth day of the Orientation program, the students learnt mind sharpening and memory enhancing techniques by witnessing a workshop on Growth Mind Set by Mr. Surya Narain Bahadur who amazed the students with his phenomenal skills of engaging students.
Day 5: August 3, 2k18
In the morning session of the final day of Anusthapan 2k18, students were amazed to have movie time in which they were shown “Chale Chalo” a movie which is remake of Lagaan and directed by Ashutosh Gwarikar and produced by the famous actor and producer of Indian Cinema Aamir Khan. Chale Chalo is a life inspiring movie which taught the budding managers and entrepreneurs how to face real time challenges and convert the weaknesses into Strengths. Movie time had the fun providing Popcorn and Pepsi break. Post-movie discussion was made by Mr. Vikas Nain about the learnings of the movie. Contributions were made in The Ice-breaking session by Dr. Akhilesh Mishra and Dr. Himanshu Jain who talked and shared the practical fronts of leading a healthy, ethical and effective life.
At the close of this one week program, the new batch of MBA students of PIET sang all time favorite number “Wavin’Flag” the Theme song of 2010 FIFA World Cup and looked visibly energized, eager and excited to go for the start of the academic session of the MBA program.
