Department of Management Studies, Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology, organized Anusthapan, an MBA Orientation Program for newly admitted MBA students of the Batch 2020-22, from October 15, 2020, to October 17, 2020. The event was conducted virtually, organized on the Zoom Online Platform. The whole program was spread over three days.
October 15, 2020 (Day 1)
On day 1, newly admitted MBA students were welcomed by the faculty team and senior students, followed by cultural events and management games. The junior and senior students’ interaction trailed the fun events. Seniors told the juniors about life at PIET and various events in the department. Fun-filled activities and student interactions were followed by the expert talks by Mr. ParikshitVaid (Alumnus of Goa Business School and faculty member at PIET) and Mr. Kaushik Saha (Alumnus of IIM Calcutta, and faculty member at PIET). Mr. Vaid’s lecture mainly focused on the topic’ Importance of News Analysis’ and how a student can inculcate the habit of reading a business newspaper. Mr. Saha mainly suggested the things that MBA students should be doing during their two-year course; he suggested skills essential for them to become better management professionals and several ways to improve those skills.
October 16, 2020 (Day 2)
Day 2 consisted of the ice-breaking sessions by the three faculty members of PIET. Mr. Vikas Nain motivated the students and discussed the management lessons learned through Cricket. Mr. Nain also discussed several management concepts by using interesting stories. Dr. Saurabh Garg gave a very inspiring ice-breaking session where he discussed the importance of keeping learning attitude alive throughout life. He gave management lessons by using stories, quizzes, and experiences. He also explained through examples and activities that if interested then one can learn anything. Dr. Himanshu Jain interacted with the students and taught several management lessons by discussing several case studies. Ice-breaking sessions were followed by the session where first-year students introduced themselves and showcased their talents by activities such as singing and poetry recitation.
October 17, 2020 (Day 3)
Day 3 was started by the address of the worthy Head of the Department, Department of Management Studies, Dr. Akhilesh Mishra. He introduced the department faculty team; he explained their educational qualifications, areas of interests, and specialization. He also gave a virtual tour of the college to new students. HoD, DMS also discussed the various events planned for the students in the whole semester. After the detailed orientation speech by worthy HoD, DMS, students were addressed by Prof. (Dr.) B.B. Sharma, Dean Student Welfare; Prof. (Dr.) V.A.Athawale, Dean Engineering; Prof. (Dr.) DPS Chauhan, Dean Academics; Prof. (Dr.) Shakti Kumar, Director PIET; Sh. ShubhamTayal, Member BoG; Sh. Rakesh Tayal, Vice Chairman, PIET; Sh Suresh Tayal, Member Secretary, PIET; and Sh.HariomTayal, Honorable Chairman, PIET. All the dignitaries addressed the students and motivated the students with their words of wisdom. The whole session was followed by the speech by Dr. Himanshu Jain, where he discussed MBA Schemes, code of conduct, certification courses and Institutes’ MoUs with several organizations. In the end,HoD, DMS, gave a motivational speech to the students on the topic ‘How to become a Successful manager’ and also instructed the students about the semester plans.
The Program ended with a significantly impacting note by motivating the students to achieve great heights.
