Introduction:
The Department of Management Studies (DMS) at Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) organized an orientation programme for the new batch of students joining the MBA programme for the academic session 2022-24. The orientation programme, named ANUSTHAPAN 2022, was held from 6th September 2022 to 12th September 2022. The venue for the event was the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium.
Objective:
The objective of the ANUSTHAPAN 2022 orientation programme was to introduce the new batch of MBA students to the institute, its facilities, and the curriculum. The programme aimed to orient the students to the culture, values, and expectations of the institute and the industry. The programme aimed to equip the students with the necessary skills, knowledge, and mindset to succeed in their academic and professional careers.
Schedule:
The ANUSTHAPAN 2022 programme was a week-long event that included various sessions, interactions, and activities. The following is a brief overview of the programme schedule:
Day 1: 6 September 2022
The day started with a session by Mr. Ankur Sharma, Head HR at Woodland, New Delhi, on the topic “Surpass Yourself – Raise the Bar” from 10 am to 12.30 pm. This session aimed to motivate the students to set high standards for themselves and strive to achieve them. The second session was conducted by Ms. Monica Lohani, an HR transformation consultant from Noida, on the topic “Customer Delight” from 1.30 pm to 4 pm. This session focused on the importance of customer satisfaction and its impact on business success.
Day 2: 7 September 2022
The first session of the day was taken by Mr. Vikas Nain, Assistant Professor at DMS, on the topic “Calming the Storm Inside: Promoting Mental Health among Students” from 10 am to 12.45 pm. This session aimed to help the students manage stress and emotions effectively. The second session was conducted by Dr. Akhilesh Mishra, Head of DMS, on the topic “Strategic Leadership” from 2 pm to 4 pm. This session focused on the qualities of effective leadership.
Day 3: 8 September 2022
Two sessions were conducted on this day on “Personality Development” and “Communication at its Best.” Mr. Surya Narain Bahadur, Chief Happiness Officer at Advanced Training and Development Consultant, conducted these sessions.
Day 4: 9 September 2022
Ice-breaking sessions were organized on this day by Dr. Saurabh Garg and Prof. Himanshu Jain from 10 am to 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm to 4 pm, respectively. These sessions aimed to help the students get to know each other and build a sense of camaraderie.
Day 5: 12 September 2022
On this day, there was an interaction of the newly admitted students of MBA with the management of PIET, including Sh. Hari Om Tayal, Chairman; Mr. Rakesh Tayal, Vice-chairman; Sh. Suresh Tayal, Member Secretary; Mr. Shubham Tayal, Member-BOG; Prof. Shakti Kumar, Director; Prof. BB Sharma, Dean-Student Welfare, and Dr. DPS Chauhan, Dean-Academics. The day was full of cultural performances like dance, rap, singing, interaction with alumni, and games.
The week was full of fun-filled sports activities, and parents were also invited for interaction. Refreshments and welcome kits were also given to the students.

The programme was successfully organized by the event conveners Ms. Jayti Mahajan and Dr. Suman along with the support from all the faculties of the department and students of MBA IInd year. The event provided an excellent opportunity for the students to get familiar with the institute’s culture, curriculum, and faculty members.
