PIET Quest

PIET QUEST- A pride Talent-hunt Project

PIET is always known for creativity and vibrancy. There is a plethora of events organized annually. PIET Quest is a unique kind of fest organized to recognize and reward the latent talents of Arts, Science and Commerce stream talent from schools, colleges, and polytechnics since 2008. It involves three rounds, one is held at schools and colleges. The qualifying students are invited to PIET for second qualifier and the final round. 12 toppers are selected in each category from Arts/commerce, Science, Polytechnics and Colleges.  The Institute recognizes and rewards the latent talents of students in Arts, Science, and Commerce streams by organizing a contest covering Schools, Polytechnics and Colleges of Panipat, Sonipat, Karnal, Rohtak, Kurukshetra, Panchkula, Shamli, Bagpat and Delhi regions. Awards worth one crore are given away. It is notable to mention that prizes like Honda Activa Scooters/Motor Bikes, Laptops, Mobiles, MP3 Players, Projectors and several Scholarships in the form of complete tuition fee waivers are awarded to the winners. The contest, being a perennial feature of the institute, received a shot in arm when His Excellency Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Former President of India; Dr. K. Kasturirangan, Member, Planning Commission of India; Professor Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor, Haryana and Punjab; Mr. M.S.Bitta, President, All India Anti Terrorist Front; Lt. Gen. (Dr.) D.D.S. Sandhu, Vice Chancellor, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra & Dr. A. Sivathanu Pillai, CMD & M.D. BRAHMOS, New Delhi, lauded the means and measures involved in smooth conduct of the exercise, paving way for successful initiation of students, belonging to divergent socio-economic spheres. In continuation to this event, some of the eminent personalities like Dr. Suprabha Dahiya, IAS, Commissioner, Rohtak Division and Ms. A Mona Sreeniwas, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Panipat visited PIET for interaction in PIET QUEST-2012. This contest paves the way for a successful commencement of comprehensive insight in tackling various types of Competitions and the Career Counseling sessions held in the Campus by distinguished experts to help the students to decide the best option among the plethora of career opportunities available nationally and internationally.

PIET QUEST-2019- The two-day PIET Quest-2019 (25th-26th April) enlisted participation of 65000 students from 435 Schools, Polytechnics & Colleges in Delhi/NCR & Haryana. 13450 students were shortlisted who participated in the second round. The qualifying students were invited to PIET for second qualifier and the final round. Sh. Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor of Vishwakarma Skill Development University, Government of Haryana; Dr. S.S. Sangwan, former vice chancellor PGI, Rohtak; Sh. Sanjay Singh, AVP, Manufacturing and Plant Head were among the worthy guests.

PIET QUEST-2018- Two days PIET QUEST was held as a part of our perennial feature in PIET. On 18th April, 2018 we had the shortlisted students of Arts and Commerce and on 19th students of science stream. The mega quest enlisted the participation of more than 73,000 students from about 438 schools, polytechnics and colleges from Delhi and Haryana. The mega contest was inaugurated with candle lightening by the the distinguished guests Rekha Shukla, IRS, Principal Commissioner, Income Tax, Karnal, Sumegha Kataria, Deputy Commisioner, Panipat. The dignitaries who graced the big show on subsequent day included the distinguished guests Anna Cerdan, Penny Scandrett from Carnival Homewares from Australia and Naresh Ahlawat, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Samalkha. Chief Guest Anna congratulated and invited PIET students for summer training in Australia. The first prize of Honda Activa and Scholarship of Rs 2,52,000 was awarded to each member of the first winner team.  The 2nd prize was Laptop and Scholarship of Rs 1, 26,000 for each member of the second winner team.  The third prize was Tablet for each and Scholarship of Rs 63,000. Rest all teams got prizes Printers and Scanners and Scholarship of Rs 23,500 and numerous prizes were given to other participants amidst great fanfare on 19th April, 2018.

PIET QUEST-2017- The three-day PIET Quest-2017 (25th-27th April) enlisted participation of 53325 students from 416 Schools, Polytechnics & Colleges in Delhi/NCR & Haryana. The number of shortlisted students who participated in the second round were 3700 (arts/commerce), 2800 (Science), 600 (Polytechnics) and 500 (Colleges). The mega-contest was inaugurated by Shri. Premchand Aggarwal, Speaker, Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly amidst great fanfare. The dignitaries who graced the big show on subsequent days included Ms. Krishna, Principal Pooja Modern Senior Secondary School, Panipat and Guest of Honours  Ms  Geeta from Govt Senior Secondary School Biholi and on the final day Mr. Anil Malik, IAS Principal Secretary, Technical Education, Govt of Haryana and the Guest of Honours Ms. Anna Cerdan from Australia, lauded the means and measures involved in smooth conduct of the exercise, paving way for successful initiation of students, belonging to divergent socioeconomic spheres, into various engineering & Management disciplines.

PIET QUEST-2016 – This Quest was an epoch-marking event with the presence of 42230 students from 390 institutions across India. The number of shortlisted students who participated in the second round were 4000 (arts/commerce), 3000 (Science), 650 (Polytechnics) and 500 (Colleges). Sh. M. S. Bitta, Chairman of all India Anti Terrorist Front; Major General (Dr.) Gagandeep Bakshi (SM, VSM); Prof. Nand Kishore Pandey, Chairman, Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology; Prof. (Dr.) M. M. Goel, Dean of Colleges, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra & Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Kumar Aggarwal, Vice Chancellor, YMCA, University of Science & Technology, Faridabad were among the worthy guests.

PIET QUEST-2015 was a thundering success with the participation of 31916 students from 352 educational institutions. The presence of Hon’ble Governor of Haryana and Punjab, Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki, mesmerized and motivated the students. Mrs. Dheera Khandelwal, IAS, Principal Secretary, Technical Education Haryana, also graced the Quest.

PIET QUEST-2014 – This unique PIET QUEST enlisted the participation of 29218 students from 309 Schools, Polytechnics and Colleges from Delhi and Haryana. The mega contest was inaugurated by Lt. General (Dr.) DDS Sandhu, Vice Chancellor, Kurukshetra University amidst great fanfare on 24th April 2014. The dignitaries who graced the big show on subsequent days included Dr. P.C. Jain, Principal, Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University; Sh. M.S. Bitta, Chairman, AIATF; Dr. Shashi Balain, MD & CEO, Pulito Heathcare; Dr. Abhai Mauriya, First Vice Chancellor of EFLU, Hyderabad; Dr. Girish Chopra & Dr. Sunil Dhingra of Kurukshetra University.

PIET QUEST-2013 witnessed the presence of four Vice Chancellors i.e. Shri R.S.Chaudhary (IAS (Retd.), former Vice Chancellar of Kurukshetra University), Dr. K. L. Johar (former Vice Chancellor, GJU, Hissar) on 25th April 2013; Sh. H.S. Chahal (Vice Chancellor, DCRUST, Murthal) on 26th April 2013 and Prof. S.P. Bansal (Vice Chancellor, Maharaja Agrasen University, Solan (H.P.)) on 27th April 2013. A galaxy of senior professors of Kurukshetra University in the personality of Dr. Anil K. Vohra (Dean, Faculty of Engg. Tech.), Dr. Dinesh K. Aggarwal (Director, UIET) and Dr. Sunil K. Dhingra (Co-ordinator, Career Counseling Cell) also graced the mega event.
