Academic leadership is the name given to leadership in an academic setting or organization as a special subdivision of overall leadership. Academic leadership is a leadership that includes such roles as creating vision and mission based on science and research data for the organization, setting up creative ideas, doing and providing teamwork.
Department of Management Studies organized a one day workshop on Academic Leadership. Professor Suresh Bedi, Chief Academic Mentor PIET designed the workshop to assist the faculty as an academic leader.
Professor Bedi meticulously explained the concept. More specifically, it was designed to help the faculty in acquiring the skills and knowledge needed to perform an academic leadership role more effectively. He focused that Academic leadership is critical in higher education because it has an impact on the quality of student learning.
During the workshop Leadership index of PIET was also calculated. The lecture was indeed a motivation for everyone to perform to their best ability.
