A Value-Added Course named Sectoral Analysis has been designed and developed by Prof. Himanshu Jain with the consultation of the industry. The course aims to enhance students’ analytical ability and improve their industry readiness. This course will facilitate a better understanding of those sectors which are having potential for their employability as well as for entrepreneurship.
The Value-Added Course will be delivered in 35 hours during the current semester. The evaluation will be based on the group presentations by the students.
In this context, an Online Workshop on “Sectoral Analysis” was organized by the Department of Management Studies (DMS) on 12th January 2022. 22 students participated in the workshop. Mr. Kaushik Saha (Alumnus IIM-C, IIT-K), a core team member at Gramfinn.com was the expert for the workshop.
Students have been divided into teams of two students each and have been allotted a particular industry. Professor Himanshu briefed the students about the course and the evaluation procedure. Mr. Saha explained the benefits of the skilling course for the student’s professional career. During the workshop, Mr. Saha guided the students regarding technicalities involved in the sectorial analysis and also guided the students in the selection of the sector. The students were highly involved in the decision and Mr. Saha resolved their questions/doubts so well.
