About the Programme

This is a four year degree programme, divided in eight semesters. The students are imparted professional training by virtue f theoretical and practical skills on variousaspects of the profession. As part of the curricular requirements, the students are provided wide exposure of industry and academia to sharpen their professional skills and nurtured to emerge out as an entrepreneur by imparting skill-based training at our incubation centre.

Students after graduating can opt their career in industry, academia, hospitals, marketing and so forth. They can also start their own industry or a Pharmacy store and become entrepreneurs. They can also register for higher degrees in Pharmacy (M. Pharm., PhD), Management (MBA), Law (LLB) and contribute in Pharmaceutical industry as a member of Product Development Team or become Pharmaceutical Legal Advisors. Students after gaining experience in the profession can also apply to become Drugs Inspectors.

For starting one’s own enterprise, it is mandatory for the Pharmacy graduates to register themselves with the State Pharmacy Council as “Registered Pharmacist” to obtain the desired licensure to practice the profession.

The Intake Capacity for B.Pharmacy is 60. For directly admission to second year (3rd semester) B. Pharm. for Diploma student is 10% (only 6 seats) of intake.

Yes, There is a Training and placement cell in our college wherein campus interviews are conducted by various companies every year and eligible candidates are selected.

80% attendance is must in all subjects; practical as well as theory as per PCI norms.

The subjects included in the 4 yr course are: Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry, Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Biotechnology, Medicinal Chemistry, Physical Pharmacy, Management, Pharmaceutical biochemistry, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient technology, Bioorganic Chemistry & Drug Design, Quality Assurance Techniques, Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence. These subjects are divided in the four year course.

Lectures are conducted by usage of projector, LCD or white board and with regular practical’s of the respective subjects. Innovative teaching methodologies like Demonstration’s, Problem based learning, Case studies etc. are also practiced.

Apart from curriculum students take part in co-curricular and extracurricular and social activities.

Pharm D stands for Doctor of Pharmacy. It is a post graduate doctorate degree program (6 years) and B.Pharmacy stands for Bachelor of Pharmacy. It is an Undergraduate level Bachelor’s degree course (4 Years).

If you are all set for working in pharmaceutical or Biotech firms like GSK, Biocon, Mankind, Sun Pharma, Ranbaxy, etc, your choice should be B. Pharm. However, if you wish to work in hospitals or health care centers, Pharm. D is the answer.
After B.Pharm there is a wide range of career options to choose from like you can opt for M.Pharm or M.S or M.Tech or MBA or MSc or even some schools offer a MD degree and also Pharm. D if you want, but the Pharm D is not yet flourished in India, if you plan to settle abroad then you may think of the Pharm.D degree. There are a wide range of subjects you can do masters after B.Pharm like Cosmetology, Traditional medicine, Pharmaceutical Technology, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Biochemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and lots more… Also you can appear in different competitive exams like Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT), NIPER-JEE, JAM etc. You can also get into IITs for the biotechnology, biomedical engineering and biochemical engineering degrees by appearing in the respective entrance examinations.
