PIET’s SUPER-30 is a privileged batch that will have its entire education funded by the institute where the student get to innovate, ideate and create their own startups at institute’s startup Incubation Center – the biggest in Haryana. The students are selected on the basis of below mentioned evolution metrics:

  • Consistent Academic Track
  • Sports-Extra Curricular Achievements
  • Projects – Innovations
  • Scholarships/Achievements at Olympiad etc
  • Leadership Position Held
  • Letter of Recommendation
  • Community Service
  • Interview

Students appearing for P-KAT with a strong profile get up to 100% financial aid in the program of their choice.

India Accelerator (IA) Initiatives to Develop Startups
Overview

The world is being revolutionized by Industry 4.0 by shifting its paradigm to use machine operated devices rather than hand held devices with the advent of latest technologies like artificial intelligence, data science, internet of things, AR-VR, 3D printing etc. The target of industry 4.0 can be achieved by incorporating features of Education 4.0 like shift from conventional learning paradigm like classroom teaching to experimental learning paradigm like working on live projects of industries. Moreover, introduction of teaching and hands on experience on latest emerging technologies should also be there with the inclusion of flip based learning.

PIET achieves the expectations of Industry 4.0 by following three-pronged approach. Apart from offering flip based learning, internships, live projects, conventional placements cell; it also shakes hand with the startup India initiative launched in 2016 for building robust startup ecosystem transforming India from job seekers to job creators. PIET has signed an MOU with IA – leading seed stage startup accelerator of the country, to drive collaboration between academia, startups and industry. This program is expected to foster research, catalyze innovation, creating a startup ecosystem on campus that can help budding entrepreneurs to convert their innovative ideas into commercially viable products. India Accelerator’s role is to help develop the Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship for the region at institute campus & transform it into a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Startup Conference

Two days international conference was organized on January 21-22, 2021 in the institute on Startup Incubation in collaboration with the Hindu Economic Forum (HEF), where more than 50 startups with 400 participants attended the conference.

Accelerator Program

The nurturing of students selected for startups begins in 1st year degree program itself. First startup accelerator session was conducted in the institute by the India Accelerator on February 18, 2021 in the APJ auditorium at 3:00 pm. The plan of action followed by them covering illustrations of concepts and practices of development of design thinking covered till July 2021 is as follows.

Startup Launch

Three students Philips Paul, Vivek and Shivansh of first year recently launched their startup “Pro & Client” on 20th May, 2021 with the support of PIET – India Accelerator program.

Technical Series of IA Sessions

PIET also works on up skilling of all year students with the help of IA labs. IA technology lab of India Accelerator, invests in deep learning on future technology skills to make students industry ready. This will improve opportunities as students can pursue a tech career of their choice with Top MNCs. The latest technology chosen for 2021 is JavaScript, React and Node JS for web development, Cloud, DevOps, Conversational AI and DSA.
